![]() These are not visible when you're in a normal view, it looks just like Civ 6 does now. Take each tile in the game and split it into 7 micro-hexes. ![]() This resolves so many problems with military, but tbh you could take it even further, and instead of just re-vamping military, you could introduce the concept of micro-hexes You can have just 1 infantry unit on a tile, but you're gonna get rolled by a 7 stack template Also let me piece together these units similar to linking right now in Civ 6. Then let me produce these templates directly from a city, and when they spawn, they take up just one tile. Maybe I can create a spec ops unit with drones and paratroopers. Maybe I can create a generic template with 3 units of infantry, 2 tank units, and 1 support artillery unit. ~ basically a template consisting of some mix of different units, up to a cap of say 7. Let me create templates like I can in Stellaris etc. Something like how support units work right now with linking, or stacks in Civ 4. You can't easily maneuver them around, leaving you with very little leeway for actual strategy That's just bonkers, you've effectively got one battalion there and it's the size of half a continent. ~ you have to set up units in a massive area, maybe 3 infantry spanning an entire mountain range in one direction, a row of 2 tank units behind them, and then some rocket artillery. If you want to go to war with infantry, artillery, tanks, etc. You create an infantry unit, it takes up one tile & is the same size as a city & a mountain. I think the biggest problem here is just how units work. One huge problem with Civ for me at least is the lack of depth in terms of military strategy & war in general. I'm late to this but wanted to add an idea / concept
